1st Forres Scout Group

We've been part

of Forres since 1908

We’re 1st Forres Scout Group, and we’ve been helping young people discover adventure and build lifelong skills since 1908.

Scouts made us do-ers and give-it-a-go-ers. It taught us to jump in, get muddy, and give back to our community. Here at 1st Forres, we’re all about trying new things, thinking on our feet, and having a wide-open mind. It’s about taking a deep breath, ignoring the butterflies, and going for it – even when things get tricky. And if we fall? We get back up and try again.

With around 100 young people in Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, and our Nelson Explorer Unit, supported by 30 awesome adult volunteers, we’re a group that thrives on adventure, curiosity, and giving everyone the chance to learn skills for life.

We meet in our hall on Bank Lane, right in the heart of Forres. But our adventures stretch far beyond, as we work closely with groups in Moray and Inverness. Whether it’s a weekend camp, a big project, or a community event, we’re always thinking about what’s next and how to make it even better.

At 1st Forres, everyone’s welcome. All genders, races, and backgrounds. Every week, we’re here helping young people aged 6 to 18 build confidence, resilience, and the practical skills they need for school, work, and life.
